  11. !Cvrt alphabet converter is ⌐ 1991,92,94 Maya Electronics. It is NOT public
  12. domain. However, copies may be passed on to other people as long as the
  13. following conditions are met:
  14.  
  15.      Å   Copies may be passed between private individuals as long as this
  16.          is done free of charge.
  17.  
  18.      Å   It may be distributed by public domain libraries, as long as no
  19.          more than ECU 1.50 is charged for a 800Kb (E format) disk of P.D.
  20.          software containing !Cvrt and no more than ECU 3.00 is charged for
  21.          a 1.6Mb (F format) disk. If charges are higher than this, then my
  22.          permission must be obtained first.

  24.      Å   It may be distributed by remote databases such as FTP sites or
  25.          mail servers on InterNet or bulletin boards, as long as no charge is
  26.          made for downloading it (other than the cost of the phone call).

  28.      Å   !Cvrt must NOT be distributed with software, other than as detailed
  29.          above, without my permission. If a profit is being made from the
  30.          software, then this will normally be in return for a small royalty
  31.          or one-off payment.

  35.      Å   No part of the !Cvrt application may be used separately from the rest of
  36.          the application without my permission.

  38. Usage
  39. ~~~~~
  40.  
  41. This program converts between different character sets (Alphabets).
  42. Simply drop your file onto !Cvrt's icon and wait for the save box
  43. appearing for saving of the converted file.
  44.  
  45. Defined alphabets are: ISO/Latin1 (always present), 7-Bit ASCII, MS-DOS,
  46.                        McIntosh, Roman-8 and EBCDIC.
  47.  
  48. Available menu selections:
  49.  Info:
  50.   Give info about program
  51.  Infile:
  52.   Set to alphabet in source file
  53.  Outfile:
  54.   Set to alphabet in converted file
  55.  End-of-Line:
  56.   End-Of-Line character(s) may be set independently of conversion, but a
  57.   sensible default setting is provided for each character set.
  58.  Options:
  59.   Detab   - expand tabs (9) with spaces (tabstop every 4th character)
  60.   Strings - Convert characters inside double quotes (") only
  61.   Quoted  - Convert characters preceeded by tilde (~) only
  62.   Paragraphize - replace single end-of-line characters with a space and
  63.                  remove any leading and trailing spaces around them.
  64.                  Only available when the destination character set is ISO/Latin1.
  65.                  This option may be useful when importing preformatted text into
  66.                  e.g. Impression.

  68.   Save current setup.
  69.  Quit:

  72. Hints:
  73.  To add/edit the translation tables, edit the file Tables inside the
  74.  !Cvrt application directory (Double click !Cvrt app. while pressing <SHIFT>).
  75.  (Make a backup copy first!!)
  76.  Instructions are found in the Tables file itself.

  78.  The Resource directory also contains message files for different languages.
  79.  To install: Replace the current Messages file (in the !Cvrt directory)
  80.              with the language (country name) required.
  81.  (If the Messages file is removed, then the default language is UK).

  83. Notes:
  84.  All conversions are done VIA the ISO/Latin1 alphabet, except conversions
  85.  where the infile and outfile alphabets are the same.
  86.  Currently a maximum of 10 conversion tables may be defined.
